EPT San Remo – Day 3: Early Finish Looms

After a flurry of early eliminations the action on Day 3 at PokerStars’ EPT San Remo quickly got down to the bubble. As expected the action slowed before the most significant bust out of the day; however, once Renaud Benvenuti became the most popular man in the room the pace picked up again.
Liv Boeree was the first to pick up €8,000 when her A-J couldn’t out-race the pocket sevens of Mike Watson. Also feeling the negative force of the deck once the bubble had burst was: Ana Marquez, Chris Moneymaker and rising UK star, Chris Brammer.

anaWith the eliminations continuing to strike, the tournament director decided to give the players (and the media) a reprieve and end the day early. Instead of the five scheduled levels, the tournament will now cease after four. The omission of a dinner break has also trimmed down the players’ time at the felt, meaning things will wrap-up today at around 21:00.

haxWhile the majority of the field will be happy things are coming to an early conclusion today, the likes of Charly Maracchione, Isaac Haxton and Ben Vinson will all be wishing it would go on a little longer.

In the past level all three have experienced a rush of positive variance and now sit within the top five stacks in the room. Indeed, if Haxton can continue to gather chips, he should be able to improve on his current placing of 113th on the GPI’s POY ranking.
