FPM Montreal: Five Players For Your Consideration

FPM logoThe stars are out as the Playground Poker Club as partypoker WPT Montreal is in full flight! Day 1B action is currently underway and HUGE names still in contention. A reminder that there are three Day 1’s here in Montreal and players out during Day 1A and 1B can re-enter on Sunday for Day 1C play … With this, we bring you five players for your consideration for your FPM Montreal rosters:

AMIR BABAKHANI

Added a WPT Champions Club member is never a bad thing … especially when he won right here in Montreal last April. Amir Babakhani (GPI#703) may not be a household name, but after winning the WPT Canadian Spring Championship and contending in the WPT World Championship, he could be a great addition to your team at low price-point! Did we mention he ended Day 1A with a Top 3 chip count?

Babakhani’s Day 1A Chip Count: 185,100

LUDOVIC LACAY

Ludovic Lacay GPIWhy not add a recent EPT Champ to your lineup? Ludovic Lacay (GPI#233) is already in the clubhouse with a lot of chips. His Day 1A really went his way and now he gets to enjoy a few days off in beautiful Montreal in preparation for Day 2 play on Monday.

Lacay holds over 3M USD in live tournament earnings including his big win at EPT Sanremo last season which netted him € 744,910.

Lacay’s Day 1A Chip Count: 129,800

GRIFFIN BENGER

A chip and a chair!

Hours after being left for dead, Griffin Benger (GPI#46) was hitting straight flushes and bagging one of the biggest chip stacks of the evening. It just goes to show that you can never count anyone out in a tournament. After EPT Berlin High Roller success last season, Benger will be looking to hit it big on the World Poker Tour for the first time of his career.

Benger’s Day 1A Chip Count: 115,500

JEFF MADSEN

Jeff Madsen GPIOwner of multiple WSOP bracelets, Jeff Madsen (GPI#125) has had a few close calls on the the World Poker Tour as well. In the past 15 months, Madsen has qualified for two WPT Final Tables – last season at the Legends of Poker and the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown – but was the first player out on both occasions.

Madsen has also enjoyed success at WPT bestbet Jacksonville Fall Poker Scramble earlier this month when he finished in 15th position. His career earnings crossed the 4M USD mark earlier this season.

Madsen is currently playing on Day 1B

XUAN LIU

Xuan Liu GPIWe’re adding a third Canadian to the list and why not, we are in Canadian territory and when in Rome …

Leading lady Xuan Liu (GPI#550) would sure love to make Montreal the home of her first major title. The two-time EPT final table participant (EPT Sanremo and the PCA) did finish in the Top 100 right here at WPT Montreal last season; she would prefer improving on that result in the coming days.

Liu is currently playing on Day 1B
