Former derivatives trader turned successful poker pro Andy Frankenberger (GPI: #132) was on Fox Business last week – and so was the Global Poker Index.

Frankenberger, who spent the better part of his career on Wall Street, appeared on the Business of Vice segment to tell his story of how he left his business career and entered poker.

“I loved what I was doing on Wall Street,” Frankenberger explains to host Cheryl Casone, “but I wanted a change. I just sort of stumbled into poker, and I was very fortunate that when I went pro, I started winning right away, which gave me the confidence to keep doing it.”

Frankenberger’s results in the last three years since he went pro have included two World Series of Poker bracelets and one World Poker Tour title. At the 1:27 mark in the segment, some of Frankenberger’s achievements are displayed on a side panel, along with his 119th ranking on the Global Poker Index. (As of March 18, 2013, he has dropped slightly, to 132.)

Much of Frankenberger’s score is still influenced by his WSOP bracelet win last year, and his deep runs in the 2012 World Series of Poker Europe.
