GPI300: 12 in a row for Ole, Zinno and Leah trending

A new personal best for Schemion while a back-to-back WPT Champion pushes his way into Top 10 contention…

THIS WEEK’S HIGHLIGHTS

Ole Schemion GPIOle Schemion (GPI#1, =) becomes the third player in GPI history to hit #1 on the GPI World Poker Rankings for a 12th straight week. Only Jason Mercier (GPI#5, =) and Dan Smith (GPI#52, -3) have spent more consecutive weeks at the top than Schemion. Since the start of July, only Schemion and Smith have been ranked #1 in the World … that’s over eight months of domination.

As predicted following his score at the WPT L.A. Poker Classic, Daniel Negreanu (GPI#6, +3) makes another move up the ranks. At #6 in the World, Kid Poker holds his highest rank since December.

Back-to-back victories for three-time WPT Champion Anthony Zinno (GPI#13, +19) sees him make another huge jump inside the standings, moving to a career-best 13th in the World. Following a win at the WPT Fallsview Poker Classic, Zinno bests his career-best ranking for a second straight week with another WPT title at the L.A. Poker Classic.

WPT L.A. Poker Classic runner-up Mike Leah (GPI#20, +43) also earns a significant boost, moving to 20th on the GPI World Poker Rankings. The former World #17 has earned a trio of six-figure scores in the past six months, including his first bracelet win at WSOP Asia-Pacific in Melbourne.

Finally, keep an eye on Phil Hellmuth (GPI#158, +207) who makes the jump to #158 this week following a score in the WSOP Circuit Main Event in Baltimore.
