HPT Expands, WSOP-C Council Bluffs Finishes

HPT Expands to West Coast

The Heartland Poker Tour is expanding on continued live tournament success by adding a West Coast tournament to the current season. The Thunder Valley Casino Resort near Sacramento, California, will host a deepstack tournament, satellites, and Main Event from September 20 to September 29, 2013. The Main Event at Thunder Valley will feature three starting flights for players and will be filmed for national TV broadcast in the United States.

Season 9 already consists of tournaments at locations including New York, Arizona, Florida, and even the Caribbean via the season-starting cruise.

WSOP-C Wraps Council Bluffs Series

The World Series of Poker Circuit stop at Horseshoe Council Bluffs wrapped its Main Event on April 22, and the entire series of tournaments completed as well. Some of the preliminary event winners who captures WSOP-C rings included Nick Jivkov for Event 1, Zachary Smith in Event 3, and Matthew Weber in Event 7. Nathan Bjerno beat Ting Ho to take the ring and title in Event 9, and Mark Bonsack not only won Event 6 but finished second in Event 10. The last tournament wrapped with Pejman Niyati taking down Event 12.
