Pahuja Leads Full Tilt’s Montreal Main Event, EPT London Latest

Montreal Finale Set

Day 4 of this year’s Full Tilt Poker Montreal Main Event came to a conclusion last night and by the time the crowds had dispersed and the chip counts were in it was Vinny Pahuja who retained his chip lead.

Another barnstorming performance from the American saw him carve his way through the field, swerving attacks from all sides, to finish atop of the surviving nine players with more than 10 million chips.

After just five hours of play the initial 25 players had been cut to 10 and when cards were down it was Jeremie Trepanier who felt the wrath of negative variance.

Eric Despres was the man assuming the role of executioner in the final act of the day. Having seen a flurry of betting activity ahead of him, Despres as was able to call Jeremie Trepanier’s shove with Ah Kh. When Trepanier revealed Ac Qs there was little for Despres to do that sit back and hope any bad beats weren’t forthcoming. Fortunately, the 5d 2c Jh 4d Tc board was good enough for Despres to scoop the pot, eliminate Trepanier and bring the penultimate session to a close.
