EPT London Main Event Nears Finale

EPT London’s Main Event glided towards a finale last night after 16 players bagged and tagged their chips ahead of today’s penultimate session.

Although the day started with 45 players all hoping to take home the largest slice of the £3 million prizepool, but when it came down to the crunch it was David Yan who exerted his dominance over the field.

After rising up to the top of the chip counts midway through the session, Yan was able to bag 2,313,000 chips and lead the likes of Robin Yliato (2,146,000), Martin Kozlov (1,664,000) and Georgios Karakousis (1,615,000) into Day 5.

While an international field made it through to today’s session, an equally accomplished selection of players fell by the wayside during Day 4. Indeed, with luminaries such as Dave Ulliott, Sebastian (Viktor’s brother) Blom and Andrew Moseley watching from the rail, Candido Goncalves became the final elimination of the day.

After moving all-in with Ah Qc Goncalves found himself in trouble when Stefan Vagner called with Ad Kc. Despite hoping for some help from the poker gods Goncalves was sent to rail in 17th with a consolation prize of £25,780 after the board ran out: As 6h 7c 8s 4c.

Today’s action kicked off earlier and at the time of writing three players had been eliminated with Tudor Purice becoming the latest casualty after his Ad 9c was unable to outrun Karakousis’s pocket fours.

Stars Align for EPT High Roller

In the shadows of the Main Event EPT London welcomed a slew of pros for the opening day of its £10,300 High Roller.

Amongst the stars on display was the likes of Sam Trickett, Jason Mercier and Sorel Mizzi which meant the early action was intense. Indeed, of the aforementioned pros Trickett was unable to parlay his two entries into a robust stack and was one of the first eliminations of the day.

Trickett wasn’t the only pro to exercise his rebuy option and by the time things had wrapped up for the day a total of 148 entrance fees had been collected.

Of that impressive number a total of 78 players made it through the day and the stars shining the brightest when things came to a close was Carla Sabini (269,700), Antonio Lafosse (257,800) and Shawn Buchanan (211,500).
