PMU Sponsors WPT, CPPT Foxwoods Underway, Horseshoe Cincinnati Hits BBJ

WPT Nationals in France Partners with PMU

The World Poker Tour announced a two-year exclusive partnership with PMU for the WPT National tour this year.

The pertinent tournaments are at the Cercle Clichy Montmartre Paris and Casino in Paris April 17-20, Le Croisette Casino in Cannes May 29 to June 1, and Casino Es Saadi in Marrakech October 9-12. Each Main Event will offer a €1,200 buy-in, with €750K guaranteed over the tour.

CPPT Foxwoods Finishes Early Events

The Card Player Poker Tour was in the middle of its second season when it stopped at Foxwoods Resort in Connecticut on February 8.

The 11 tournaments started with a $600 NLHE with a $100K guarantee, and there were 502 entrants for a prize pool of $258,078. Christopher Leong and Chris Schonbach split the top prize money for $42,149 each, and Leong took first place.

Winners of subsequent events were Je Wook Oh, Andrew Gallen, Christopher Amaral, and Luis Vasquez.

More events are on the schedule with the $1,650 NLHE Main Event scheduled to begin February 14. It will offer a $300K guarantee.

Big Bad Beat Jackpot Hits at Horseshoe Cincinnati

The World Series of Poker Room at the Horseshoe Cincinnati treated players to some extra cash on Tuesday when the Bad Beat Jackpot hit.

It happened when Gary Costa made quad sevens, but Michael Humphreys won the pot with a straight flush. Of the $270K jackpot, Costa was awarded $108K, Humphreys $54K, and each of the other six players at the table $18K.
