Hellmuth to Play Poker with Tiger Woods

The Tiger Woods Foundation announced Tiger Jam 2013, which is a weekend of events to benefit the organization. To kick things off on Friday, May 17, “Tiger’s Poker Night” will feature a private charity poker tournament hosted by Tiger Woods. The website also says it will be “MC’d by Phil Hellmuth,” and players will compete for “exclusive prizes and experiences.”

Hellmuth tweeted about the event, saying that Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, and Daniel Negreanu will also compete.

The Tiger Woods Foundation was started by Woods and his father in 1996 to provide college access and educational opportunities for underserved youth.

Hachem Finalizes WSOP Team Asia-Pacific

The World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific will run the Caesars Cup as an invitational, televised tournament to round out the APAC series in Melbourne. Joe Hachem is the captain of Team Asia-Pacific and started on April 10 by choosing Jackie Glazier and Jeff Lisandro. It wasn’t until April 10 that he announced via Twitter that he completed his team with Shane Warne, Andrew Hinrichsen, and Richard Yong.

Phil Ivey chose his Team Americas players last week: Phil Hellmuth, Greg Merson, Daniel Negreanu, and Antonio Esfandiari. Sam Trickett has yet to announce his Team Europe choices. Each team will use four players but has one as an alternate.

The Caesars Cup takes place on Sunday, April 14.
