Premier League: Colman in Control after Heat 4

Heat 4 play at the partypoker Premier League wrapped up late last night at the Playground Poker Club outside of Montreal with Dan Colman in control after Heat 4…

MEET DAN COLMAN

Playground logoTo most, American Dan Colman (GPI#4037) is more than likely the lesser known player in the Premier League this year. But don’t mistake Colman with a random player that was just thrown into the fire at the last minute; Colman is a an accomplished online poker player – specializing in High Stakes Heads-Up matches under the name “mrGR33N13” on PokerStars – who moved from to Montreal from the US Northeast to play online poker.

Colman is in total control following his Heat 4 victory on Saturday night. He has all but locked up a spot at the Championship final table … with 34 points accumulated through three heats played, it would take over 20 points from Antonio Esfandiari combined with the three players currently trailing Colman all finishing with more points than him in order for him not to go through – plus Colman still has one heat left to play later today – to say that he’s in the pole position would be an understatement.

HEAT 5 PREVIEW

partypoker Premier LeagueColman plays his fourth and final heat tonight and hopes to set the standard with yet another strong performance, he has collected a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd place finish in his first three starts so far. Colman is one of the only players here who can enjoy some home cooking and the comfort of his own bed once play is over every night, it certainly looks like it’s working so far!

Like Colman, Jason KoonDaniel Cates and Phil Laak and  will all be play in their final heat tonight. For Koon and Cates, this is their last opportunity to make a push into the Top 4, currently holding the fourth and fifth spots respectively.

Phil Laak GPIAs for Laak, well desperate times call for desperate measures. Sitting at 14 points, it’s going to take a miracle for him to finish in the Top 4 so Laak will looking to pickup the most points possible tonight in order to try and qualify for one of those second-chance head-up matches.

Tonight will be the final off day for Jonathan Duhamel, Sorel Mizzi, Vanessa Selbst and Scott Seiver – all four players will play in the final heat on Monday.
