Premier League Set, Hall of Fame in Finals, Moorman Close to History

PartyPoker Premier League Moves to Montreal

The PartyPoker Premier League announced that the seventh installment of the popular tournament will take place at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal, Canada. The events will fun from November 20-26, 2013.

The event will be a WPT special with 12 well-known poker players. They will play six eight-handed heats, with each player competing in four league matches at $2K per point. The top four will make the final table, and the next four finishers will play best-of-three heads-up poker for the final two table seats. The winner will be awarded $350K from the $125K buy-in tournament.

Tony G is the first player to confirm attendance.

Finalists Announced for Poker Hall of Fame

The ten finalists for the Poker Hall of Fame have been announced, after the public nominations and Governing Council oversight was complete. The names are:

Chris Bjorin

Humberto Brenes

David Chiu

Thor Hansen

Jennifer Harman

Mike Matusow

Tom McEvoy

Carlos Mortensen

Scotty Nguyen

Huck Seed

The living Hall of Fame members and media panel will choose the inductees from the list, a voting process that ends October 11.

Chris Moorman Nears Online Poker History

PocketFives reports that Chris “moorman1” Moorman is closer than ever to making history. As of last week, he was less than $100K away from earning $10 million in lifetime tournament winnings. As of the morning of September 25, he narrowed that gap and sits less than $30K away from crossing that $10M mark.
