Schemion Puts Stranglehold on Fellow EPT10 PoY Contenders

“It ain’t over ’till it’s over”
– Yogi Berra, 1973

IS IT OVER?

Ole Schemion GPILegendary New York Yankees catcher Lawrence Peter “Yogi” Berra, who was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1972, is so well known for his witty comments that they’re is a name for them … Yogiisms. One of his most famous lines was “It ain’t over ’till it’s over”. Berra, who uttered the words in 1973 as his team was all but written off in the chase for the pennant, would pull off the impossible and comeback to win. Many who are chasing Ole Schemion (GPI#1) are certainly hoping that this is the case in the EPT Season 10 Player of the Year race. Heading into the EPT Grand Final Festival, Schemion already has what looked to many as an insurmountable lead … however, it was far from over. Schemion himself went on to win three events at the Grand Final in 2013, proving that catching fire in Monte Carlo is possible. Sadly for those chasing the German sensation, Schemion has since added points to his EPT PoY totals, finishing seventh in the EPT Super High Roller, taking home € 307,000 for his efforts.

DAN SMITH DID IT!

Amazingly, Schemion’s trio of victories last year would not have earned anyone chasing him this year enough points to move ahead of him. Those trailing Schemion need to grab a hold of Dan Smith (GPI#6) if they see in the poker room and seek his advice. Smith pulled what most thought was the impossible back in 2012, winning three straight 5K buy-in events in a matter of days at the EPT Grand Final. That performance would have earned Smith over 400 EPT PoY Points and would place him ahead of Schemion in this year’s race if his name was Muehloecker, Selbst or Bilokur. A win in this year’s Main Event, which will earn you 238.59 EPT PoY Points, would certainly be a great score. Unfortunately, those contending would be better off busting the Main and play several side events instead as they will need more than one score to take over from Schemion … looks like that is the case as the next three players trailing Schemion have all busted the Main Event … the only problem? Schemion heads into Day 3 play with a Top 25 chip count … THE MAN IS UNREAL!!!!
