Trickett’s Getting Married; Marvin’s Transfer

Trickett’s NYE Proposal

He’s won millions of dollars at the poker table and is currently ranked seventh on the GPI’s UK rankings, so it’s fair to say that life is pretty good for Sam Trickett.

Indeed, being one of the poker world’s best player means there’s not much else he could want in life.

However, there has been just one thing missing: a fiancé. Having been attached to Natasha Sandhu for a long time, Sam decided to pop the ultimate question on New Year’s Eve.

Whilst out celebrating with friends and Whisky Mist, one of London’s trendiest nightclubs, Sam made the proposal and after a brief sweat, Sam was overjoyed when Natasha said yes.

Since breaking the news via Twitter, yesterday, Sam and Natasha have received a wave of congratulatory messages.

With 2012 coming to a positive end for Sam, it’s hard to see how he can top his achievements last year. However, if there’s one player you’d bet on to do even better in 2013, it’s Sam Trickett.

Marvin’s Transaction Troubles

Top tournament players often invest in similarly skilled players in order to boost their poker profits, but one player who encountered a stumbling block when trying to buy a piece of Jason Mercier was Marvin Rettenmaier.

Despite being one of the game’s best players, the GPI’s #2 player wasn’t able to transfer Jason the required money thanks to a transaction limit imposed by PokerStars.

The block was more than a minor inconvenience for Marvin, who decided to email the site’s customer service team in an effort to lift the ban.

The resultant email certainly made for amusing reading as he not only signed off as the game’s Player of the Year, but he kindly pointed out that the money was intended for one of PokerStars’ pro players.

We’re not exactly how much Marvin was trying to send, but it’s likely that the matter was resolved pretty swiftly once PokerStars realised who it was for.
