Winter Wins CPPT, Bellande Buys In

Sean Winter Wins CPPT bestbet

The Card Player Poker Tour Main Event wrapped on May 12 at bestbet Jacksonville in Florida. Sean Winter battled it out for three days and emerged victorious.

The tournament drew a total of 218 entries, and Day 2 whittled the field from 47 down to only six. Those half dozen returned on May 12 with Edward Gilfillan as the chip leader and Winter third in chips.

As play proceeded very quickly, Winter was strong, and with his elimination of Brian Washington in third, he took a healthy chip lead into the heads-up match against Gilfillan. And Winter took it down.

Results:

1st place: Sean Winter ($84,000)

2nd place: Edward Gilfillan ($49,500)

3rd place: Brian Washington ($33,000)

4th place: Kevin Baker ($22,950)

5th place: Erik Christensen ($17,200)

6th place: Konstantinos Pantardis ($13,200)

7th place: Jess Snyder ($10,200)

8th place: Colin Richardson ($7,500)

9th place: Jalen Coyle ($5,400)

Jean-Robert Bellande Enters One Drop

Poker pro Jean-Robert Bellande tweeted from his @BrokeLivingJRB Twitter account that he bought into the World Series of Poker $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop tournament scheduled for this summer.

“There goes a milly!” he tweeted. “I just bought into the 1-Drop. If I win this it’ll be brokeliving no more…” And he attached a picture of himself at the cashier cage with wads of cash.

GPI reported today that several other new names had been added to the list of competitors for that tournament as well.
