WPT Baden: My Official Team

FPM logoDay 2 is in the books at WPT Baden in Austria and my team is still looking pretty good…

Let’s first take a look at the four players I had featured prior to the start of Day 2 play at WPT Baden:

Bodo Sbrzesny: 403,000 chips (read article)
Andrey Shatilov: 43,500 chips (read article)
Alban Juen: Eliminated on Day 2 (read article)
Scott Montgomery: Eliminated on Day 1A (read article)

And now a look at my own official team for WPT Baden, which includes Sbrzesny, Juen and Shatilov:

Paul Berende FPMTEAM DANIS (Player, Day 3 chip count)
Bodo Sbrzesny: 403,000 chips
Andrey Shatilov: 43,500 chips
Alban Juen: Eliminated on Day 2
Paul Berende: 286,500 chips  *pictured*
Ismael Bojang: 212,000 chips
Steve O’Dwyer: Eliminated on Day 2
Kimmo Kurko: 395,500 chips
Vizsnyiczai Zsolt: 185,500 chips
Daniele Scatragli: 215,000 chips
Paolo Compagno: Eliminated on Day 2
Julian Herold: 85,000 chips

Am I ever kicking myself!  When I was putting my team together for Baden, I was left with a coin flip with my highest paid player.  Steve O’Dwyer or Marvin Rettenmaier.  My gut told me O’Dwyer and my eyes did as well.  This just seemed like the type of tournament that O’Dwyer was in great position to take over.  And to be honest, were in not for the cooler he suffered to Dogan Gungor, O’Dwyer could very well have strived in this tournament.  But alas, why did I ever doubt the Mad one?  Sure hope you picked him!

But it’s not all bad news.  If you followed my lead and added Bodo Sbrzesny to your team prior to the start of Day 2 – you’re sitting pretty!  Bodo was featured in a Make the Move article following Day 1B and he has certainly delivered the goods, ending Day 2 as the chip leader and hoping to collect his first live major tournament victory.  He still has a few days to go before he can focus on that goal, however.

Paul Berende, Ismael Bojang, Kimmo Kurko, Vizsnyiczai Zsolt and Daniele Scatragli are also in great position as 44 of the initial 254 entrants will return to Casino Baden on Friday in hopes to make the money.  The Top 27 players will get paid in the event – those players will also collect those valuable FPM points you’re looking for!

So with 8 players still alive (six of them with a lot of chips) I’m expecting big things from my team as we’re only 17 players away from the money – go get ’em boys!

Lineups for WPT Baden are now locked but if you head on over to Facebook and signup to play the GPI Fantasy Poker Manager – you still have plenty of time to make your selections for the WPT LAPC!
