WPT Baden: Pick Andrey Shatilov

FPM logoNOTE: This player has made Day 2 play in Baden.  He ended Day 1A second in chips, with a stack over 130K.

It’s looking like some big name pros have made their way to Austria to play WPT Baden, it’s someone may be a little lesser known that should have your attention following the end of Day 1A play.

It’s easy to spot Steve O’Dwyer (GPI: 11), Marvin Rettenmaier (GPI: 2) and Lukas Berglund (GPI: 3599) on the Day 1A leaderboard but, if you look at the man holding the #2 spot after Tuesday’s action, you’ll be introduced to a quality player with solid results at a fraction of the price!

Andrey Shatilov (GPI: 431) should be at the top of your pick list when you make your FPM selections for WPT Baden.  Why you ask?  Just take a look at the man’s impressive resumé in the past 10 months on the live tournament circuit.

It all started last April, when many first heard of the man from Russia as he scored an impressive $108,000 victory in the Grand Series of Poker (GSOP) Live Grand Final in the Dominican Republic, defeating Hungarian pro Zoltan Szabo (GPI: 320) heads-up.  Shatilov would wrap-up his 2012 season by earning a couple of Top 10 finishes in EPT and WPT side events in December during the Prague Poker Festival.

Shatilov’s 2013 season got off to a good start as he final tabled the PokerStarts Caribbean Adventure (PCA) Main Event in the Bahamas.  Shatilov finished sixth in the event collecting $325,000 – certainly a nice start to the season.  Bulgarian Dimitar Danchev (GPI: 55) would go on to win the PCA Main.

So as you can see, you’re picking up a quality player at a bargain-basement market price of 10,000!!!  Shatilov will bring a huge amount of chips into Day 2 play and it a no-brainer – at least, in my opinion – when it comes to adding him to your lineup for WPT Baden.  For now, Day 1B play has just begun so, time to study!
