WPT Caribbean: Dunst Wins Bash at the Beach

The host of the WPT’s The Raw Deal, Tony Dunst, comes away with the hard-fought victory in the Caribbean…

WIRE-TO-WIRE

Tony Dunst GPIMany pros in the poker community have been posting their congratulations on Twitter to the latest winner on the World Poker Tour, Tony Dunst (GPI#1053). With all the sentiments from his peers, it certainly looks like this first major victory was a long time coming for the WPT TV star.

Dunst lead wire-to-wire on Sunday, in fact, he dominated play all day long except for one moment during heads-up play where WPT Mazagan winner Giacomo Fundaro (GPI#88) would double-up in a flush vs. flush situation to close the gap in the match … but this day belonged to the Wisconsin native.

U MAD?

Marvin Rettenmaier GPIMarvin Rettenmaier (GPI#3) wasn’t able to join Carlos Mortensen and Gus Hansen in the WPT Three-Win Club. Rettenmaier would end the tournament picking up a fourth place finish, still a very impressive performance by the German pro who is set to pickup valuable GPI and GPI PoY points once the next rankings are released on Thursday.

Just a few short days off for the WPT crew as they move north to Canada later this week for what could be the biggest tournament in World Poker Tour history – in term of attendance – at partypoker WPT Montreal.
