WPT LAPC Sets Final Table, SPT Announces New Series

WPT LA Poker Classic Determines Final Table

As the WPT L.A. Poker Classic moved toward the final table, there were still several recognizable faces in the field.

Action started on March 1. The $10K buy-in single-entry Main Event drew 534 players to create a $5,126,400 prize pool. Day 2 thinned the field to 172 players, and Day 3 ended with only 63, all of whom were in the money.

Day 4 played down to 18, and with the 19th place elimination of Ravi Raghavan for $42,550, the clock stopped for the night. Josh Neufeld was the chip leader with 2,326,000 in his stack.

Day 5 saw names like Hasan Habib and Alexandru Masek exit in the afternoon hours, and play continued to find the final table. Joe Serock busted in tenth place, then Allen Pock in eighth. Finally, Dan O’Brien was ousted in seventh place for $137,900. The final table was then prepared for March 6 with these chip stacks:

Michael Rocco (5,615,000)

Chris Moorman (3,190,000)

Patrick Bruel (2,280,000)

Josh Neufeld (1,930,000)

Glenn Lafaye (1,855,000)

Adam Friedman (1,150,000)

SPT Announces New Series

The Senior Poker Tour announced that its new series will begin with the SPT Vegas Spring Classic in Las Vegas. It will take place April 8-13 at the Stratosphere Casino.

The first event will be a $70 Survivor Mega Satellite to the SPT Championship, with the top 10 percent of the field winning seats to the $550 SPT Championship. There will be 12 events in all.

SPT has also partnered with the PPC Poker Tour, and that first event will be a March 11 tournament at Tampa Bay Downs. SPT is also coordinating with the PocketFives Poker Tour, and that partnership will kick off at Running Aces in Minnesota on April 6.
