WPT Montreal Nears Bubble, WSOPC Atlantic City Underway

Prize Pool Set for WPT Montreal

When the PartyPoker WPT Montreal Main Event began on November 29, it promised a repeat of last year’s stellar crowd of poker players. Over the course of three starting days, they gathered at Playground Poker for the $3,850 NLHE Main Event (with reentries).

Day 1A brought in 215 players with 92 moving forward. Day 1B added 308 entries, and 128 players survived. Day 1C finished the field with 339 more entries with 138 of them moving on. The total field was then set at 862 players, which created a prize pool of $2,738,435. The top 99 players were to be paid, and more than $500K was reserved for the winner.

The overall chip leader at the start of Day 2 was Sebastien Drolet-Poitras with 270,800 chips, and only 129 players remained at the dinner break with the money bubble looming. Kevin Saul looked to be leading then with 660K chips.

WSOPC Atlantic City Heats Up

The World Series of Poker Circuit set up at the Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City on November 29 to host its latest series of tournaments.

Event 1 was a $365 NLHE event that drew 383 players and a $114,900 prize pool. The top 45 players were paid, and Raymond Papperman earned the win and $25,282 in cash.

Event 2 was a $365 NLHE with reentries, and the final number of entries was 483. Play continued on December 2 toward the money bubble and the $144,900 prize pool.
