WPT Paris | Day 2: Salsberg Up To Old Tricks

We have completed Day 2 play at the WPT Grand Prix de Paris and a familiar face finds himself at the top of the standings …

SALSBERG SURGES ON DAY 2

Matt Salsberg GPIDefending WPT Grand Prix de Paris Champion Matt Salsberg (GPI#46) ended the day as the chip leader. Salsberg earned a few big pots the easy way on Sunday as it looked like some of his opponents were just giving their chips to the Season XI Player of the Year. It’s still early, but it surely looks like Salsberg has no interest in giving up his Grand Prix de Paris title.

Salsberg’s American teammates Connor Drinan (GPI#202) and David Peters (GPI#17) also enjoyed big days on Sunday.

FOUR FRENCHMEN IN CONTENTION

Philippe Ktorza GPIThose hoping Fabrice Soulier (GPI#286), coming off his second place performance at WSOP Europe, would jump right back into the fire here at the Aviation Club were certainly disappointed … however, French poker fans should be excited at the prospect of four of their own appearing in the Top 10.

Those four include Day 1B chip leader Hicham Hilmi (GPI#1421), recent Marrakech Poker Open Champ Ricardo Manquant (GPI#978), 2012 EPT Grand Final third place finisher Bernard Guigon (GPI#733) and Season XI WPT World Championship runner-up Philippe Ktorza (GPI#68).

65 members of the original 187-player field with make their way back to the Aviation Club de France in Paris on Monday in hopes to inch closer to the €1.3 million prize pool.
