WPT Paris: Day 3 | Oh So Close to the Money!
We’re so close to the money at the WPT Grand Prix de Paris that the players can smell it …
TWO FINALISTS FROM 2012 REMAIN
We are down to the final 24 players at the Aviation Club de France and in the end only 21 of those will collect a paycheque when all is said and done.
Two of the remaining 24 were final table participants last season: Matt Salsberg (GPI#46) won the event and currently sits in the middle of the pack.
Mohsin Charania (GPI#50) also final tabled the event in 2012 however he finds himself in a different situation than Salsberg. Charania is one of the low stacks still alive in the event. He will need to proceed with caution on Tuesday in hopes of not only cashing but putting himself back into contention.
SEVEN FROM THE 300
Belarusian Vasili Firsau (GPI#392) leads all remaining participants with a 200K chip lead on his closest rival. He could very well find himself in the GPI300 if he plays his cards right.
Speaking of the 300, there are still seven members still alive in Paris. They include the aforementioned Salsberg and Charania, fellow Top 50 stars Byron Kaverman (GPI#26) and Jason Koon (GPI#38) and the top rated remaining player, the Mad One, Marvin Rettenmaier (GPI#2).
