WPT Paris: Todd Terry Leads Day 1A
While we watch the WSOP Europe Main Event play down to a winner, another major tournament kicked off down the road from Enghien-les-Bains today as the WPT Grand Prix de Paris completed Day 1A play earlier than expected at the Aviation Club de France …
TODD TERRY TOPS
An early double-up certainly helped Todd Terry (GPI#57) to get off to a roaring start and he wasn’t about to let any of those valuable chips go. Terry was also able to benefit from the fact that this tournament is a re-entry event as defending champion and reigning WPT Player of the Year Matt Salsberg (GPI#46) found his gamble switch but wasn’t able to beat our Terry in what would be his final hand of Day 1A … yes, Salsberg is expected to re-buy on Saturday:
Busted day 1a of @wpt Paris in a dream spot for @toddbterry who flops broadway vs my top set and knows I ain't hero folding in a reentry.

MORE BIG NAMES FALL
Salsberg wasn’t the only big name pro who took a hit on Friday. Marvin Rettenmaier (GPI#2), The Poker Brat Phil Hellmuth (GPI#96), Brandon Cantu (GPI#419), John Juanda (GPI#317) and recent WPT Legends of Poker Champion Jordan Cristos (GPI#282) all failed to make it to Day 2 play. You can rest assured that most of these stars will make their way to the Aviation Club on Saturday and give it a second go.
