WSOP Circuit News, APAC Event 1 Final Set

WSOP-C Foxwoods Main Event Sets Field

The World Series of Poker Circuit was winding up its stop at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut with the start of the $1,675 NLHE Main Event over the weekend. The first two flights brought in hundreds of players, some of whom reentered, and made for a total of 615 entries. The $924,652 prize pool was set to pay the top 63 players with more than $194K reserved for the champion.

Less than 200 players made it to Day 2, but the late registration mixed up the numbers. The money bubble burst later that day, and some of the players to cash included Justin Pechie and Luke Vrabel. Action will continue through six levels, and the final table will play out on April 8.

Cartwright Misses Sixth WSOP-C Ring

At the Harrah’s Resort in Cherokee, North Carolina, World Series of Poker Circuit veteran Kyle Cartwright nearly hit another career milestone. He final tabled Event 3, which was a $365 Pot Limit Omaha tournament, heading for his sixth WSOP-C ring. In the end, he finished second for $12,035 and will have to keep playing for that next piece of poker history.

Final Table Set for First WSOP APAC Event

The World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific series kicked off with Event 1, the $1,100 NLHE Accumulator. The starting days saw 329 entries on Day 1A, another 337 on Day 1B, and 419 on Day 1C. The total number of entries was 1,085, creating a prize pool of $1,085,000.

The overall chip lead going into Day 2 belonged to Antoine Saout, who combined two days’ stacks for 104,375 in total.

Approximately 175 players made the second official day of play, and the money bubble burst so the top 90 of them could be paid. Some of the latter evening payouts included Phil Hellmuth in 20th place and Antoine Saout in 13th place. Ultimately, the final table of nine was set for April 8 as follows:
