WSOP Employees and High Rollers, Chick for Talonchick, Dates for Seminole Series

WSOP Casino Employees Play

Event 1 of the 2014 World Series of Poker is the $500 buy-in NLHE Casino Employees event, and Tuesday was the first of two days. When registration closed, there were 876 players in action, less than the 898 of 2013. The prize pool came to $394,200, out of which the top 90 would be paid and the winner receive $82,835.

Last year’s champion, Chad Holloway of PokerNews, exited midway through the day at the hands of Sergio Trevino.

At the dinner break, only 207 players remained.

WSOP $25K Mixed Max Begins

Event 2 of the WSOP is a $25K buy-in Mixed Max NLHE tournament, something new on the schedule this year. The setup for the tournament is to start nine-handed on Day 1, switch to six-handed for Day 2, four-handed for Day 3, and heads-up for the final day.

Registration had not been closed at the time of this posting, but there were 130 players on the board as of Level 5.

Adrienne Rowsome and Ryan Carter Welcome Baby

Team PokerStars Online’s Adrienne Rowsome (known as talonchick online) and husband Ryan Carter welcomed a baby boy into their world this week. Carrick Emerson Carter was born healthy and happy to the couple. They are getting to know their offspring in Canada instead of playing poker at the WSOP.

Seminole Hard Rock Announces Poker Open

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, announced the dates and other pertinent information for its summer Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open.

The schedule will consist of 23 tournaments from August 14 to September 3, 2014. Events range from a $250 buy-in to the $100K Super High Roller, which may again be part of the World Poker Tour Alpha8 series. The Main Event will be a $5,000 buy-in NLHE.
