WSOP Europe: Stojanovic, Ausmus Win, Seidel Goes For #9

After a day without bracelets on Wednesday it was a double-championship day on Thursday at WSOP Europe:

STOJANOVIC STOPS O’BRIEN

Daniel O'Brien GPIDarko Stojanovic (GPI#19503) won the first WSOP bracelet for France in 2013 earlier in the day defeating Dan O’Brien (GPI#94) heads-up in the Mixed-Max NLH event.

The event, which played down to the final heads-up matchup last night, saw O’Brien take the lead into the final. Unfortunately for the popular American player, nothing seemed to go his way on Thursday.

Shannon Shorr GPIThe GPI300 trio of Shannon Shorr (GPI#18), Noah Schwartz (GPI#25) and Joe Kuether (GPI#90) as well as poker superstar Phil Ivey (GPI#447) were other notables who earned Top 10 finishes in the Mixed-Max NLH event.

BRACELET #1 FOR AUSMUS

Jeremy Ausmus GPIIn a battle for a first bracelet, 2012 October Niner Jeremy Ausmus (GPI#23) got the better of Finnish star Juha Helppi (GPI#78) heads-up to win Event #4: Pot Limit Omaha.

It was almost a year ago that earned a fifth place finish at the World Series of Poker Main Event Final Table … and he hasn’t slowed down since having collected over 800K USD so far in 2013.

Former GPI #1 ranked player Jason Mercier (GPI#9) also reached the final table in Enghien-les-Bains. His fourth place finish will certainly allow him to add some points to his totals, it will be interesting to see where Mercier lands in next week’s GPI Rankings update.
