WSOP News of Online Poker, Hash House, and Frisbee Dogs

WSOP Updates for Summer

The World Series of Poker hosted a media conference call to discuss changes and additions to the summer games in Las Vegas.

Players will find new carpet and chairs inside the Rio’s Convention Center, and more cage windows and staff will be available than in past years. The hotel/casino is also excited about its new zip line and Hash House a Go-Go restaurant.

News for players includes a 4pm start time for later events instead of the 5pm start time of past years. Those tournaments will complete ten levels without a dinner break (about which players instantly took to Twitter to complain) in order to ensure the schedules meet their goals.

The WSOP plans to integrate its WSOP.com online poker site in Nevada to the festivities, including offering the ability to deposit to the site at the Rio cashier cage. Laptops will be allowed at tournament tables to allow players to play online and live at the same time. There will also be live customer support at the Rio Convention Center.

The online site will be offering seats to numerous bracelet events, as well as a special 100% sign-up bonus up to $1K and a High Roller Series with buy-ins from $200 to $500. An additional series will also be announced in late May with $2 million in guarantees.

There was also a mention of Frisbee dog shows or contests before the start of the Millionaire Maker tournament. Enough said about that.
