WSOPC Underway, Charity Event Success, PPC Sets New Season

WSOPC Hammond Preliminary Winners

The latest stop for the World Series of Poker Circuit is at the Horseshoe in Hammond, Indiana. Action kicked off on October 17 for the preliminary tournaments, leading up to the final day of play on October 28.

Event 1 was a $365 buy-in NLHE reentry event with a $500K guarantee, and it garnered 2,496 entries to create a $748,800 prize pool. Robert Georato won the top prize of $110,471 and the WSOPC gold ring.

Event 2 was a $580 NLHE that attracted 546 players for a $273K prize pool, and Mark Morris captured the top prize of $57,327. The next tournament was a $365 NLHE without rebuys, and there were 465 players in action. Of the $139,500 prize pool, Michael Oshana won the title and $nearly $30K.

Event 4, the $365 PLO with $100 rebuys, was a new addition to the normal fare, and it brought in 146 total entries for a $127,900 prize pool. Kevin Meeusen won the ring and more than $35K. And Event 5 was a simple $365 NLHE event that drew 469 players for a $140,700 prize pool. Janchiv Enkhyam took the top prize of $30,250.

Tournament Raises Money for Make-A-Wish

According to PokerNews, the 4th Annual All In for Wishes event was held last weekend in New York to benefit the Make-A Wish Foundation of Northeast New York.

The $200 buy-in tournament brought in 195 players, like Greg Merson, Chad Brown, and Lee Childs. The prize pool was $46K, out of which winner Patrick Ricci won $10K for his victory. Greg Merson’s dad, Stan, also cashed in the event.

PPC to Florida in 2014

The Players Poker Championship Poker Tour has announced that its new season will begin in January at the Silks Poker Room at Tampa Bay Downs in Florida.

The January 15-19 series will offer four tournaments, including a $350 buy-in NLHE Main Event with a $50K guarantee starting on Friday, January 17. Players can compete in any of the four flights on the first two days and take their largest stack into Day 2.
