The last stop on the current season of the World Series of Poker Circuit was in full swing at Harrah’s in New Orleans, Louisiana. The first event kicked off on May 9 and offered a $365 NLHE tournament that attracted 367 players for a $110,100 prize pool. Joseph Mckeehan took that gold WSOPC ring and $24,219 in cash.

David Hobson took home $48K for winning Event 4, a $365 NLHE Re-entry event with 498 entries. Event 5 was a $365 NLHE tournament without reentries, and out of the 276-player field, Nancy Birnbaum captured her third WSOPC ring and $19,875. Phil Ivey in Legal Battle with London Casino
Last year, Phil Ivey played some high stakes Punto Banco at Genting Crockfords in London and won approximately $12 million. However, the casino alleged cheating on behalf of Ivey and refused to pay his winnings, only returning his initial £1 million stake. Last week, Ivey filed a lawsuit to recover his winnings.
In response, Crockfords responded with a statement that went into details about the alleged cheating, saying that Ivey was able to read the back of the cards, which were defective. The casino believed Ivey used the “playing the turn” method to see the cards as they were turned, giving him an unfair advantage during play.
