WSOPE Day 3 | Kid Poker Last One Out, Final 24 Set

Making another deep run in WSOP Main Event outside of the US, Daniel Negreanu (GPI#3) was the final player eliminated as the final 24 list is set and the players are ready to battle down to a final table on Wednesday …

NEGREANU NIXED

Daniel Negrenau GPIThere is so much on the line for Kid Poker, who is not only fighting to win the WSOP Player of the Year title, but is also in contention for both the top of the Global Poker Index as well as GPI Player of the Year honors. Although unofficial, Negreanu’s score in the Main Event shouldn’t be enough for him to take the lead in either races.

Negreanu, who currently holds the #3 spot on the GPI300 and the fourth position in the GPI PoY 2013 race, won the World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific Main Event last April and finished second in both the 2-7 Triple Draw event at the World Series of Poker this past July in Las Vegas and the EPT Barcelona Super High Roller event.

BIG NAMES RUNNING DEEP

Dominik Nitsche GPIAn impressive 16 of the final 24 participants reside inside the GPI1000 including seven members of the GPI300: Dominik Nitsche (GPI#81), Sergio Aido (GPI#242), Ognjen Sekularac (GPI#61), recent WPT Legends of Poker winner Jordan Cristos (GPI#284), recent WSOPE bracelet winner Jeremy Ausmus (GPI#32), Ravi Raghavan (GPI#23) and the highest ranked remaining player, American Shannon Shorr (GPI#18), who seems to be in contention in every even he plays.

There are also a bunch of French poker pros still alive in the tournament lead by Fabrice Soulier (GPI#354) and Day 1B chip leader Ludovic Lacay (GPI#672).
