Fantasy Poker Manager: Who are the most popular picks for EPT Deauville?

Almost one third of teams include Jake Cody. Lacay and Elky also popular. See who else is in high demand.

The cool thing about Fantasy Poker Manager is that it can also provide very good insight into who the poker community thinks will fare well in future tournaments. We are already beginning to see some of that with the EPT Deauville main event that begins on February 3.

Released only a few days ago, Fantasy Poker Manager has already attracted a high number of users, among poker pros and fans alike, and we are thus able to look at some picking “habits” and analytics. (As a quick reminder, users assemble a team of poker pros ahead of an event, and points are then scored based on how those players perform in the actual event. Learn more about how FPM works here.)

Jake Cody (GPI: 230) is so far the most sought out player. Roughly 30% of present-day teams (29.6%, to be exact) contain the former EPT Deauville champion (2010). The question is, do you think Cody picked himself?

Cody actually has quite a lead on the next two players percentage-wise, although they were still recruited often enough to make up almost a quarter of every team. They are French pros Ludovic Lacay (GPI: 233) and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier (GPI: 4). Elky himself is #2 on the EPT All-Time leaderboard, and #1 on GPI France overall.

Other highly picked pros for the event are Davidi Kitai, Jason Mercier, and Liv Boeree. Boeree, an FPM fan herself, made her own picks public, which were then analyzed by GPI’s Eric Danis.
