CLOSE CALL IN EDINBURGH

Liv Boeree GPIAfter a few rough years on the circuit, Liv Boeree (GPI#414) was back on the podium at UKIPT Edinburgh in Scotland on Monday. Boeree, who entered final table play as of the favourites, would bow out in second position, falling to Dean Hutchison heads-up.

The £59,180 score is definitely what the doctor ordered for Boeree, who, as previously mentioned, has had a tough time on the circuit for the past few years. A regular member of the GPI300 since its inception, Boeree fell outside the 300 in October 2013 and has been struggling to find her way back in. Liv was able to move up over 100 spots last week following her 50th place finish in the Main Event at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) last week in the Bahamas. One would expect another influx in points coming her way later this week.

RISE TO SUPERSTARDOM

Liv Boeree GPIAlthough she had been cashing in events all over the world for a few years, Boeree’s rise to superstardom would come almost instantly in April 2010 where the UK pro would win EPT Sanremo for € 1,250,000. From then, Liv would sign a contract with PokerStars and become one of the most recognizable faces in the game. Despite the lack of big cashes in past few years – before her most recent 2014 scores – Boeree remains one of the most in-demand players on the circuit.

Liv Boeree GPIHer EPT cash remains, by far, the biggest of her career on the live tournament circuit.. In fact, Boeree’s UKIPT score on Monday is the second biggest in her career. Boeree’s big score in Sanremo is the only seven-figure score in her lifetime on the circuit … she has yet to earn a six-figure score either … nothing like a couple of early results to back into the grove! Boeree has already booked her ticket to Melbourne where she will be competing in the Aussie Millions starting later this week.

Known as a very cool, down to earth person (and a serious heavy metal fan!), Liv recently took time from her busy schedule to answer questions from forum users over at The Hendon Mob.
