Abedi-Arani Wins CPPT, 888 Signs Brazilian Pros

Mo Abedi-Arani Wins CPPT Choctaw

The Card Player Poker Tour was at the Choctaw gaming facilities in Durant, Oklahoma, for its most recent live event stop. The $1,500 buy-in NLHE Main Event with a $500K guarantee drew 735 players over the course of two starting days, and that created an actual prize pool of $1,103,091. The top 81 players were paid.

Many recognizable faces made it into the top 20, including Allyn Jaffrey-Shulman, Jim Carroll, and Larry Wright. Ultimately, the final table took place on August 5 with Mo Abedi-Arani overcoming a severe chip deficit during heads-up play to claim victory.

3rd place: Lou Barlow ($100,271)

4th place: Bruce Guin ($74,734)

5th place: Matthew Ludlow ($56,445)

888Poker Signs Brazilian Players to Team

Team 888Poker continues to grow with the signing of two Brazilian players to its roster of sponsored pros. Bruno Kawauti recently finished in 15th place at the 2013 World Series of Poker Main Event, and he consistently cashes in events like the Brazilian Series of Poker. Nicolau Villa-Lobos won the UK & Ireland Poker Tour Edinburgh Main Event in January of 2013, made a deep run in the 2012 WSOP Main Event, and took second in the Brazilian Series of Poker Rio Main Event in 2012.

Other recent additions to the 888Poker team include Jackie Glazier and November Niner Jay Farber.
