Mann Wins PPC Tampa, CPPT Choctaw Begins

Nick Mann Wins PPC Tampa Downs

The 2014 PPC North America Championship Main Event wrapped at Tampa Downs with Nick Mann in the winner’s circle.

The action started at the Silks Poker Room, and the $580 buy-in reentry tournament had a $200K guarantee. When all four starting flights were done, there were 420 entries in total to create a $223,400 prize pool, exceeding the guarantee.

The top 45 players were paid, but only nine made the final table. The top four finishers were also set to receive $5K prize packages to the PPC Aruba tournament in October.

Mann was strong at the final table but went into heads-up play at a 3-to-1 deficit. But he doubled and climbed, ultimately defeating Danny Lobato to claim the title, Aruba trip, and substantial prize money.

1st place: Nicholas Mann ($44,757)

3rd place: Michael Baize ($20,210)
