ANZPT Queenstown Day 1B Adds to Field

The last stop on Season 5 of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour was set up for poker at the SKYCITY Casino in Queenstown, New Zealand. The NZ $3K buy-in NLHE Main Event started on July 29 with 40 players, though only 26 made it through.

The second of three starting days added another 39 players to the total, but there were only 22 left to bag chips at the end of Day 1B. Daniel Laidlaw was the leader of those remaining players with 85,900 chips, and others who made it through included Daniel Neilson, Luke Brabin, and Casey Kastle.

LAPT Peru Gets Underway in Lima

The Latin American Poker Tour was in the middle of its sixth season when it stopped in Lima. The Atlantic City Casino in Miraflores was the host of the LAPT Peru stop, and players gathered for the $1,650 buy-in NLHE Main Event.

Action began on July 31 with the first of two starting days, and players like Cristian de Leon, Humberto Brenes, Leo Fernandez, Andre Akkari, and reigning champion Jordan Scott. The official PokerStars board showed 213 players in action but fewer than 100 still in the tournament at the dinner break.
