ANZPT Perth Begins, LAPC Prelim Winners

Season 5 of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour kicked off its Perth Main Event with Day 1A the $2,200 buy-in NLHE. Crown Perth hosted the festivities that started with side events on February 14 but culminated in the Main Event on February 20. There were 67 players in action, including players like Tom Grigg, Rupert Elder, Andrew Hinrichsen, and Gary Benson.

The night ended with only 38 players, and Peter Woodworth was the chip leader with 84,025 chips, followed by Dale Marsland with 70,625 chips.

LAPC Winners Galore

The L.A. Poker Classic started in mid-January at Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, and many well-known players have taken home the famous trophy in the preliminary tournaments. Some of them are as follows:

Event 5: $340 Omaha 8 or Better – Don Zewin ($12,010)

Event 7: $340 HORSE – Janet Jee Pak ($8,515)

Event 10: $340 Omaha/Stud 8 or Better – Brian Nadell ($7,790)

Event 15: $340 NLHE – Joe Tuccini ($26,265)

Event 22: $225 NLHE Shootout – Alexandru Masek ($12,700)

Event 28: $550 Seven Card Stud 8 or Better – David Levi ($5,268)

Event 30: $550 Mixed Hold’em – Bryan Devonshire ($4,618)

Event 31: $1,100 NLHE Escalator – Tyler Patterson ($19,080)

Event 34: $125 NL Omaha 8 or Better (Rebuy) – Mark Gregorich ($7,095)

Event 44: $1,100 NLHE – Larry Quang ($99,235)

Event 45: $125 NLHE (Rebuy) – Men Nguyen ($21,255)

The finale of the series will be the WPT Main Event, a six-day tournament with a $10K buy-in that begins on February 23.
