John Cernuto Becomes the Second Recipient of the Hendon Mob Award

“Miami John” holds the top spot on the all-time results list

Las Vegas – March 3, 2020 — The Hendon Mob (THM) award is a celebration of a person who’s done something exceptional on the THM database.

John “Miami John” Cernuto added 27 results in 2019 maintaining the top spot on the all-time results list and crossed over the 500-mark in the process. The first player to do so. Cernuto now has 517 live recorded cashes picking up an additional five results already in 2020.

Scrolling through over 500 results on Cernuto’s THM profile tells quite a story. Cernuto’s road to the top has led him all over world. From his first cash in Las Vegas at the Grand Prix of Poker in January of 1987 to his most recent result at the 2020 L.A. Poker Classic, Cernuto has amassed nearly $6 million in live tournament earnings.

Cernuto has travelled coast to coast across the United States dominating poker rooms for over 30 years. During that span Cernuto also ventured outside the US picking up flags in Costa Rica, Austria, Spain, Monaco, Bahamas, Aruba, Canada, France, England, Ireland, and Wales.

A jack-of-all-trades type of player, Cernuto racked up victories in many of poker’s variants including Seven-Card Stud, Limit Hold’em, Razz, Lowball, Omaha Hi/Lo, Stud Hi/Lo, PLO, H.O.R.S.E., 2-7 Triple Draw and No Limit Hold’em which one of his three World Series of Poker bracelets were earned from and still remains his largest cash worth $259,150 in 1997.

For becoming the very first person to reach 500 results in their career; we salute “Miami” John Cernuto; 2019 recipient of The Hendon Mob Award.
