Russian Continues to Dominate in Czech Republic

It was a case of déjà vu at the top of the EPT Prague chip counts yesterday as Russian grinder Iosif Beskrovnyy finished the session with the most chips.

Having started the day with a stack of 239,000, Beskrovnyy ended the day with 625,200, which was enough to put him over 140,000 ahead of the Martin Hanowski (484,000) in second.

A day of brisk action saw an initial 480 players whittled down to just 167. Those surrendering their stacks throughout the day, included: Ville Wahlbeck, Eugene Katchalov, Toby Lewis and last year’s winner, Mike Watson”181271″]Martin Finger[/GPIPlayer].

Today’s session got underway earlier and with the bubble fast approaching the early play has been predictably cautious.

However, the rail has already welcomed the likes of Stuart Rutter, Tom Middleton and GPI highflier Mike Watson.

Today’s action will conclude after five levels when it’s expected just a handful of players will bag up their chips before moving on to Day 4.

Fox Poker Club to Rebrand

Yesterday we brought you news of the Fox Poker Clubs closure and today we can give you the reason why.

After unexpectedly shutting its doors on Tuesday, the owners have now announced that they are shutting their operation to allow Genting Casino to rebrand the London premises.

A message on the Fox Poker Club website announced that all player funds will be transferred to Genting’s Mint Cromwell Casino, South Kensington, while the renovation takes place.

At present there has been no re-launch date for the project, but developers have hinted that the Shaftsbury Avenue venue will reopen in March 2013.

More Lederer Revelations

DiamondFlush, the woman responsible for bringing many truths concerning Howard Lederer to light, has released her final article on the topic.

Going live yesterday, the exposé marks the final piece in her series of articles lifting the lid on what really went on behind the scenes at Full Tilt.

In this edition she questions Lederer’s “resignation” from Full Tilt in 2008, investigates the special committee of independent lawyers hired to unearth the company’s financial shortfall and asks some pertinent final questions.

The piece ends with DiamondFlush stating that there is more of this story still to be unearthed and that people should continue to pressure Mr. Lederer for the answers:

The answers to many of the above questions, and those raised in the previous instalments, are already known to this author and others, but there is no question that they should be asked of Lederer. There are a hundred more questions that could be asked, and perhaps they will be sometime in the future.”
