Buonanno, Gruissem Win Big as EPT Season Ends on High Note

Antonio Buonanno and Philipp Gruissem made sure that the two final prestigious titles of the EPT season would stay in Europe…

BUONANNO WINS THE MARATHON

Antonio Buonanno (GPI#1459) played the role of spoiler at the final table of the EPT Grand Final as the sun set and then came back up in Monte Carlo. Jack Salter (GPI#108), who held the chip lead for most of heads-up play, was defeated by the Italian.

It was a long night, followed by an early morning as the European Poker Tour ends yet another successful season as the amazing Ole Schemion (GPI#1) picks up EPT Player of the Year honours.

GRUISSEM RETURNS TO WINNER’S CIRCLE

Philipp Gruissem GPIAfter a slow start to the 2014 poker season Philipp Gruissem (GPI#38) is back in the winner’s circle, adding € 993,963 to his already ridiculous total career earnings. Gruissem defeated Scott Seiver (GPI#3) heads-up for the EPT Grand Final High Roller crown. The news isn’t so bad for Seiver, who re-emerged as a top contender to the GPI300 crown earlier this week following big scores at the WPT World Championship and a prelim event here at the EPT Grand Final. This second place finish could place Seiver in great position heading into the World Series of Poker.

Triple crown winner Davidi Kitai (GPI#37) finished third in the event while World #1 Ole Schemion was back at in again, adding yet another cash, finishing 25th in the event.
