EPT Prague: Qualifier Track Wins Prague
Despite a few of the biggest names on the European poker scene contending at the final table, it’s a German qualifier who took down the final EPT title of 2013…
RIGHT ON TRACK
From out of nowhere, German upstart Julian Track ran away with the European Poker Tour Prague title earlier today, surviving the charge from three of Europe’s best.
Track started the day as the chip leader … and he ended as the big winner, surviving the monster 1,000+ player field in order to last EPT Champion of 2013.
The superstar UK duo consisting of Max Silver and Stephen Chidwick was expected to put the most pressure on Track today, and they did, only to come up a little short in the end. Silver would exit in sixth position while Chidwick, who has enjoyed an incredible 2013 season, would finish third.
SCHEMION BLOWS PAST COMPETITION
As reported earlier this week, the GPI projected that German superstar Ole Schemion would need to finish 17th or better in order to take the GPI Player of the Year title away from Daniel Negreanu … well, Schemion wouldn’t be satisfied with simply placing 17th, choosing instead to make his way all the way up to fifth, putting a close to an incredible 2013 campaign.
SOSHNIKOV HIGH ROLLING
Ivan Soshnikov bested Olivier Busquet heads-up to take down the High Roller title, collecting € 382,050 for his big victory.
Thomas Muehloecker, Mike McDonald and Vanessa Selbst were some of the other notable pros who final tabled the HR event.
