Full Tilt Montreal Recap, EPT London Begins, PKR’s Latest Pro

Pros Fall on Day 3 in Montreal

Almost 50 players hit the rail during Day 3 of Full Tilt’s Montreal Poker Festival as the field shrunk from 84 grinders to just 25. With the C$260,581 top prize getting ever closer the action began to hot up as the day progressed and by the time the betting had finished and the dust had settled a number of famous faces had hit the rail.

Indeed, amongst those falling by the wayside whilst Vinny Pahuja was soaring to the top of the chip chart was the likes of Martins Adeniya, Dermot Blain and Hana Zoljan. The Full Tilt ambassadors couldn’t find their way past the early betting rounds and it was Blaine who became the final of the trio to exit when his K-T couldn’t make it past his opponent’s Q-J.

Whilst the remaining pros were limping over to the cashiers’ desk to collect their consolation prizes, Pahuja was able to clinch the chip lead after a double elimination at the end of the day.

Having watched a succession of bets beforehand, Pahuja looking down at Ad Kh and decided the time was right move all-in. Probably expecting at least one of the two previous bettors to fold, Pahuja appeared somewhat shocked as both Asadul Shah and Stacy Levac committed their stack with pocket queens and aces respectively.

With each player looking at a 4 million+ chip pot, the flop rolled out Kd 9c 8d giving Pahuja a glimmer of hope. With the tension palpable the Ks and Kc on the turn and river broke the deadlock and gave Pahuja the largest pot of the tournament so far.

Today’s penultimate session will play down to a final table of nine which will kick off on Thursday.
