GPI300: Gruissem and Chidwick Storm In, Seiver to #2

Tons of action at the top this week as Seiver, Gruissem, Kaverman and Chidwick shake things up.

VIEW FROM THE TOP

Ole Schemion GPIOle Schemion (GPI#1, -) begins his third straight week at the top this week. Schemion, who was crowned EPT Season 10 Player of the Year as the European Poker Tour wrapped up another successful last Friday in Monte Carlo, managed to add another 47 points to his already impressive score on the GPI.

There is a new #2 in the poker world as Scott Seiver (GPI#2 CB, +1) wrapped up an impressive few weeks on the circuit. Following a 21st first place finish at the WPT World Championship, Seiver headed to Monte Carlo and won the 5K PLO event at the EPT Grand Final. He followed that up a few days later with a runner-up finish in the EPT High Roller event.

Philipp Gruissem GPIThe man who got the best of Seiver in the EPT Grand Final High Roller event is former World #2 Philipp Gruissem (GPI#3, +35) who returns to the GPI Top 10 for the first time since dropping out of the Top 10 last month. Gruissem also cashed in the Main Event. Meanwhile, Byron Kaverman (GPI#5 CB, +2) beats his career-best GPI ranking for the second straight week, moving up to #5 in the World after his 5th place finish in the EPT Grand Final High Roller event.

UK star Stephen Chidwick (GPI#10 CB, +14) enters the Top 10 for the very first time of his career. Chidwick earned two cashes at the EPT Grand Final, yet only his High Roller score registered points. The arrival of Gruissem and Chidwick means that two stars must exit the Top 10: Jonathan Duhamel (GPI#13, -4) and Joseph Serock (GPI#14, -4) each drop out of the Top 10 this week.
