IPT San Remo Result, Dorman Triumphs in Student Championships

De Fenza Triumphs in San Remo

Both the Italian Poker Tour and the European Poker Tour landed in San Remo recently and at the conclusion of the opening event Alessandro De Fenza was able to stand victorious and €105,600 richer.

Thanks to the IPT’s combined stance with the EPT its Main Event managed to attract 1,124 players late last week but by the time the €700 Main Event came to a conclusion yesterday just one grinder had survived.

Having already made his way past a slew of international pros, De Fenza was able to make his way past the likes of Alex Norden and Alex Longobardi on the final table before beating Marcello Miniucchi heads-up.

Indeed, thanks to a slice of luck and a healthy chip lead it took just two hands for De Fenza to scoop the title after his pocket aces were able to maintain their lead over Miniucchi’s pocket queens.

Following the conclusion of the IPT Main Event the attention of those in attendance began to turn towards the EPT San Remo Main Event which gets underway tomorrow.

IPT San Remo Main Event Result:

1st. Alessandro De Fenza – €105,600*

2nd. Marcello Miniucchi – €95,600*

Dorman Claims UKSPC Title

Grosvenor Poker’s annual UK Student Poker Championships came to a conclusion on Sunday and when the chips had fallen and the partying had stopped it was Michael Dorman who stood victorious.

The Plymouth based grinder managed to secure a UKSPC title as well as a seat in the next GUKPT Main Event after a four-way deal at the final table.

Indeed, after making it past more than 300 players to reach the final of the £35 Main Event, Dorman was willing to strike a deal that secured him £2,500 whilst Ryan Mantara claimed the largest slice of the prizepool with a £3,275 haul.

Also taking part in the financial discussion was Alexander Marsdan and Mathew Buckingham, but when it came to the crunch it was Dorman that managed to claim the top spot after his 5d 3h was enough to beat Mandara’s Ad 4h after the board rolled out: 7d 7c 3s 4s 5c.
