IPT5 Grand Final Result, Genting Poker Series Set for Sheffield

Drammis Dominates IPT Grand Finale

The Italian Poker Tour‘s fifth season came to a glittering conclusion recently after Domenico Drammis managed to overcome 913 players to scoop the title and €130,000. Having visited the a number of Italian poker hotspots over the course of 2013, the IPT shifted its operation to the Caribbean shores of Saint Vincent earlier this week for a glitzy Grand Final.

After welcoming more than 900 players to the Main Event, Drammis gradually became the man to beat as the field thinned and temperature rose. Indeed, by the time the likes of Ivan Gabrieli and Domenico Rao  had hit the rail it was only Giampaolo Eramo who was in line to stop Drammis from scooping the top prize.

Unfortunately for Eramo he wasn’t able to stop the Drammis express and after getting it all-in Ah 3c he could only watch as his opponent’s Ad 7d found a winning flush on a 4d 5h Qd Kd 2c board. With that Drammis was pushed the final pot and given a moment to compose himself before the press captured his moment in the limelight.

IPT Saint Vincent €700 Main Event Final Result:

1. Domenico Drammis – €130,000

2. Giampaolo Eramo – €75,000

3. Domenico Rao – €50,000

4. Eros Nastasi – €40,000

5. Davide Costa – €30,000

6. Sebastien Didelot – €20,000

7. Antonino Leotta – €14,000

8. Ivan Gabrieli – €11,245

GPS Heading for Sheffield

Christmas might be on the horizon but for many on the UK poker circuit the end-of-year means a trip to Sheffield for the conclusion of the latest GPS season. Having traversed the country throughout 2013, crowing winners and boosting bankroll, the Genting Poker Series will finally come to rest in the Steel City on December 11.

In addition to a roster of side events and cash games, the GPS Grand Final will feature an £800+£80 Main Event with an impressive £200,000 guarantee.

Last time around the festival welcomed a slew of players with the Main Event attracting 546 runners. Taking the top spot on that occasion was Mudasser Hussain who managed to overcome the always unpredictable “Mad Turk” Yucel Eminoglu to claim the title and £42,960.

This year the organisers are expecting a similarly healthy turnout and there’s hope that the guaranteed prizepool will be breached thanks to the Main Event’s re-entry format.
