WPT Borgata Poker Open Sets $3.8M Prize Pool

When the WPT Borgata Poker Open Main Event started on September 15, players had a reentry option for the $3,500 NLHE tournament and the promise of a $3 million prize pool.

Day 1A brought in 376 entries, but Day 1B added another 813 for a grand total of 1,189 entries. That took the prize pool far above the guarantee to where it landed at $3,805,989. That was enough to pay out the top 110 players and give the winner more than $825K.

Day 1A ended with Cong Pham as the chip leader with 191,025 in his stack, and Paul Volpe took the overall lead on Day 1B with a final stack of 231,850 chips. Each of them took home $5K for leading their respective starting days.

Day 2 brought back 591 players to push toward the money.

Zentner Wins WSOPC Biloxi

While Raymond Weaver was the original chip leader and Martin Zentner in third place when the final table began, it was Zentner who persevered and won the title.

WPT Championship Moving to Borgata

As the World Poker Tour moved along with its Borgata Poker Open Main Event, a major announcement took over social media. The WPT will be moving its season-ending WPT World Championship from the Bellagio in Las Vegas to the Borgata in Atlantic City.

This change will begin with the currently-running Season XII, which will wrap in April or May with a date to be announced. It will be the first time the Championship will be held outside of Las Vegas. In addition, the event will be sponsored by PartyPoker.

The Borgata will be home to three televised WPT events this season, with the current Borgata Poker Open, January’s Borgata Winter Poker Open, and the Championship.
