GUKPT Goliath Latest, Nadal Heading to Prague
GUKPT Goliath Continues to Grow
Day 1B of the GUKPT’s Goliath event saw 367 hopefuls take to the felt with the aim of taking a step closer to the £200,000 prizepool. Although slightly down on Day 1A’s total, the number of runners was more than enough to produce some exciting action as the field was whittled down to just 51 players.
Indeed, it took just five minutes for Danny Miller to hit the rail and become the day’s first casualty after his flush came up short against the rivered full house of his opponent. Having lost his chip the British grinder recharged his stack and within ten minutes he was all-in-in again, this time with pocket aces.
Fortunately he was able to swerve a second elimination but despite calming himself down throughout the rest of the session he was unable to survive the day.
While Miller was enduring a rollercoaster ride throughout the day, Vahid Amirzahiri was positively flying. After a brisk start the circuit regular managed a huge upswing before the close of play to bag 422,000 chips and finish ahead of the day’s other top grinders: Nigel Griffiths (384,000), Tim White (367,100) and Dreeni Nutt (353,900).
Today’s third opening flight has seen more than 500 players take the felt, including Jordan Hooper, Simon Steadman and James Browning, which means more than 1,300 have already joined the gargantuan festival.

Nadal to Player EPT Prague
It’s official, after six months of coaching, Rafa Nadal will be taking part in his first major tournament later this year in Prague.
According to an article by his sponsors, PokerStars, Nadal will line-up along Europe’s top grinder for the Main Event of EPT Prague on December 12.
Since signing for PokerStars last year Nadal has been working on his game with his poker coach Alfonso Cardalda. Although he may not yet be a world beater, the tennis star is apparently just as competitive at the felt as he is on the court.
