Pros Continue to Fall on Day 2 of the EPT Grand Final, Chattha Wins Genting Big Game

Stellar Field at this Year’s EPT Grand Final

Like the harmony between yin and yang, yesterday’s EPT Grand Final action saw the chips stacks of poker’s elite rise and fall throughout the day.

Indeed, after welcoming 423 players to the felt on Day 1B, the action proved too hot for the likes of Vanessa Selbst, Sam Trickett and Eugene Katchalov as Victor Sbrissa soared to the top of the chip counts.

With so many world-class players in attendance, the poker room inside the Monte Carlo Casino was filled with tough tables. However, the table that stood out as on of the toughest contained: Steve O’Dwyer, Govert Metaal, Russell Carson, Vanessa Selbst, JP Kelly and Sam Trickett.

While the aptly nicknamed “table of death” proved too much for some, including Kelly, Selbst and Trickett, Calvin Anderson managed to thrive and finish the day third in chips.

Victor Sbrissa’s path throughout the day was a little less treacherous and by the time the tournament clock was paused he’d managed to bag 224,800 chips. That was enough to put him top of the remaining 268 players just ahead of Noah Schwartz (204,600) and Anderson (198,100).

Today’s session has already seen a number of eliminations, including Martin Finger, Justin Bonomo and Bryn Kenney, and at the time of writing the field was poised at 225.

Chattha’s Big Win in London

Chaz Chattha emerged victorious from the latest edition of the Genting Poker Big Game on Monday after defeating Ergun Macit heads-up.

The British pro triumphed over a select field of 24 that included Hendon Mobsters Joe Beevers and Ross Boatman as well as James Dempsey.

Indeed, as the last few players battled in the finale of the £1,000 event, both Beevers and Boatman were able to make it to the final table.

However, after Beevers exited in third place it was Chattha who was able to use his experience to overcome Macit and claim the £6,500 top prize.

1st – Chaz Chattha £6,500

2nd – Ergun Macit £6,000

3rd – Joe Beevers £4,500
