BREAKING THE 6K POINT BARRIER
John Juanda enters the list at #5 and is the first player on the list to total over 6,000 points during the past decade. Originally from Indonesia, Juanda has certainly enjoyed his time living in America, amassing over 15M USD on the live tournament circuit.
Although Juanda has consistently scored points since 2004 – the first year eligible for Player of the Decade points – it’s his 2012 season that stands out. Juanda earned a career-best 3.16M USD in that in 2012 despite not winning any tournaments that season. Going back to his 2004 performances, Juanda earned himself a total of 24 GPI-eligible cashes, 15 of those Top 10 finishes, winning two events in the year – now those are some filthy, filthy stats if I can say so myself!
JUANDA’S HIGHLIGHT REEL
Juanda needs no introduction to even the more novice poker fan. His consistent play on tour has made him one of the most recognizable poker pros since the big boom in 2003. He totalled 99 GPI-eligible cashes this past decade, 52 of them between 2004 and 2006.
The five-time WSOP bracelet winner has amassed a total of 63 cashes at the World Series of Poker. WSOP.com adds that “in his first five years at the World Series of Poker, John Juanda made 16 final tables and won three bracelets” – not a bad start to his WSOP career!
Juanda has also collected 19 cashes on the World Poker Tour. Six of those 19 cashes earned him final table appearances but no titles. Juanda has also made a final table on the European Poker Tour at EPT Barcelona in 2012.
